Goat's Milk Soap - Flander's Moss Bog Myrtle
Finally, about 5.5 years in the making, I am delighted to offer our farm made goat's milk soap for the first time on the market.
Made from fresh milk from Dasha and Aillish our nanny goats, we use only the highest quality oils to make beautiful, moisturising soap. Goat's Milk Soap is wonderfully nourishing and is often touted for its soothing qualities for people suffering from skin irritations and eczema.
If I had to pick a favourite soap, this would be it. Bog Myrtle is a small shrub that covers much of the wet Highlands. Its smell is somewhere between cedar and pine and rosemary. Its said that it keeps the midges at bay, and while I don't make any claims to that effect, the Vikings used it to treat depression and improve mental well-being so maybe it just tricks you into feeling less miserable about being eaten alive by bugs!
The farm sits in the middle of Flander's Moss - one of the largest raised bogs in the UK. Its acidic soil is perfect for oceans of Bog Myrtle and other diverse habitats for wildlife. We harvest the bog myrtle at its peak just before flowering and then infuse it in organic olive oil. We also add some bog myrtle essential oil to really bring out the gorgeous smell.
